🧠 The Fighter’s Journey

Levi’s passion for combat sports was shaped by his early experiences with bullying:

🗣 "When I was a kid, I used to get bullied and beat up. My mom taught me how to punch someone in the nose so I could defend myself. When I finally used it on a bully in front of his friends, they all stayed away from me. I felt safe. I felt like I could protect myself."

That moment led to him training in Kickboxing and Jiu-Jitsu at just 12 years old, and since then, he’s never looked back:

🗣 "The motion of the fight, the feeling of impact, and the toughness of taking a hit—it’s beautiful. I love it, win or lose. But boy, do I want that damn belt."

One of the biggest lessons he learned came from a devastating title fight loss at 16:

🗣 "I was undefeated, and I lost a belt I never had. I was so close. Now, that moment is a memory of discipline for my training. I will do what is necessary to be the champ."

Balancing coaching and fighting was another challenge, but he found a way to make it work:

🗣 "Learning to be a coach while actively competing was tough. But with patience and studying, I overcame it. Coaching is now a great part of my training, not just for my students but for myself."

🥊 Behind the Scenes: Training & Mindset

For Levi, fight camp is all about strategy and conditioning:

🗣 "I study as much as I can about my opponent, identify my strengths over them, and train those tactics until they become my key to victory. And of course, a crap ton of cardio."

One of the hardest things fighters go through is weight cutting, and Levi wishes more people appreciated that sacrifice:

🗣 "The pain of cutting weight for a fight is brutal. I wish people appreciated the fighters that make weight."

Mentally, he relies on friends and family to keep him sharp:

🗣 "During the resting part of camp, I recover with family and friends by my side. They’re supposed to be there when times are hard, and training camp is hard. Train hard, then recover with support."

💡 Looking Ahead

Levi has his sights set on becoming an Apex champion and using that title to launch his professional career:

🗣 "Apex is my key to going pro after being an amateur champ. If I become the champ, I can go pro, and people will want to pay to see me more. The better the resume, the better the pay."

For young fighters, his advice is raw and real:

🗣 "Buckle down because everything about it sucks. The training sucks, the diet sucks, and the anxiety-filled fight sucks. But when you look back at it all, you feel like a different person, and it's an amazing feeling. It is all worth it."

And in the next few years, Levi sees only one outcome:

🗣 "The Apex champion defending his title before going pro. I WANT. THAT. BELT!"
